Maverick improviser, luthier and composer McCloud Zicmuse invites you to participate in a unique creation: the Instant Iaeniaen Workshop. Using tin cans, sticks, old guitar strings, screws and walnut shells, you can make your very own iaeniaen: a simple one stringed instrument made of the above ingredients. Afterwards, you are invited to play instant compositions as part of the Instant iaeniaen workshop ensemble, directed byworkshop instructor, Mccloud Zicmuse, using your newly made instrument.
McCloud Zicmuse has spent the last few years as a “wild luthier”, constructing instruments out of recuperated materials. Aside from his work with iaeniaens, clarinets, guitars and just about any instrument he can get his hands on, Mr. Zicmuse is known for his instant home-made percussion kits with the cult Japanese ensemble Maher Shalal Hash Baz, as French language troubadour Le Ton Mité and as front man of a pop group that plays only self-made instruments called Hoquets. The core of his work is that of giving form to, and sharing the present: the ephemeral moment.
